Freak Out City is the second solo album from Bret McKenzie (Flight of the Conchords), built from songs developed on the road with his eight-piece band. Recorded in Los Angeles and New Zealand and co-produced by McKenzie and longtime collaborator Mickey Petralia, it features a deep cast of players including Leland Sklar, Dean Parks, Joey Waronker and Drew Erickson. Warm, witty and tuneful, it follows 2022's Songs Without Jokes with another set of finely crafted songwriting.
