Limited Edition, 180 Gram Orange Colored Vinyl
Far East Suite is a 1967 concept album by Duke Ellington, inspired by his orchestra's State Department-sponsored tour through the Middle East and South Asia. Ellington composed the suite with his longtime collaborator Billy Strayhorn, whose death in May 1967 made this one of the last albums to feature Strayhorn's work. It won the 1968 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Jazz Performance by a Large Group and stands as one of the most celebrated recordings of Ellington and Strayhorn's late period. This Music On Vinyl reissue is a limited edition of 1,500 numbered copies pressed on orange 180-gram audiophile vinyl.
