Released on Creed Taylor's CTI label in 1973, Keep Your Soul Together was Freddie Hubbard's fifth studio album. The trumpeter is joined by Junior Cook on tenor sax, George Cables on keyboards, Aurell Ray on guitar, Kent Brinkley and Ron Carter on bass, Ralph Penland on drums and Juno Lewis on percussion. Occasionally funky but rooted in creative jazz, the set showcases Hubbard in peak form across four of his original compositions.
