In 1977 Gentle Giant recorded their ninth studio album, The Missing Piece, at a time when punk, disco and new pop were reshaping the musical landscape. The band explored quirky pop, a grandiose power ballad and syncopated funk on side one, then returned to their intricate progressive stylings on side two. For this edition, award-winning producer and musician Steven Wilson continues his association with the band, remixing the album in 2024.
