The Jazz Rewind label brings this rare 1963 concert recording to vinyl for the first time, part of the Las Vegas Union series of live recordings. The lineup features Gerry Mulligan (baritone saxophone), Bob Brookmeyer (valve trombone), Gus Johnson (drums) and Bill Crow (bass). By 1963 Mulligan was well on his way to becoming the best-known baritone saxophonist of all time, while Brookmeyer was arguably the finest valve trombonist in jazz — two complementary players with witty ideas, fluent technique and easily identifiable sounds.
