One of the cornerstones of Philadelphia soul, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes reached their creative peak with Teddy Pendergrass on lead vocals. Wake Up Everybody (1975) is the last album to feature his sultry voice before he went solo, packed with uplifting, thought-provoking songs — among them the title track (later a hit for John Legend & The Roots) and the disco classic "Don't Leave Me This Way." This audiophile pressing adds an 11-minute remix of "Don't Leave Me This Way" by remix pioneer Tom Moulton.
