Pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason explores three facets of one of classical music's most famous names: Felix Mendelssohn's glittering Piano Concerto No. 1 with the London Mozart Players, his sister Fanny's long-lost Easter Sonata, and transcriptions of Mendelssohn's most famous music by Liszt, Rachmaninoff and others. The album features the world premiere recording of the new urtext edition of Fanny's Easter Sonata, a work lost for 150 years and only recently correctly attributed — with Isata the first artist to perform it under the right composer's name.
