Saxophonist Jerome Sabbagh wanted to record an album that would sound like a set in a club, looking back to early influences. On Vintage, his first album as a leader featuring piano, Sabbagh enlists piano legend Kenny Barron in an all-star quartet with bassist Joe Martin and drummer Johnathan Blake. Recorded all-analog to multitrack tape at Oktaven Audio, the program blends Sabbagh originals with standards by Tadd Dameron, Billy Strayhorn and Thelonious Monk.
