Johanna Martzy - The Unreleased And Rare Recordings - The Lost Recordings LP
180 Gram 2LP, Limited Edition, Hand-Numbered (2000 copies), Mono
The Lost Recordings revives studio and concert recordings by violinist Johanna Martzy, made in Berlin and Amsterdam between 1955 and 1965. A pupil of Jenő Hubay whom Glenn Gould called the most underestimated of the major violinists of her time, Martzy plays with rigorous tempi and luminous tone across works by Handel, Mozart and Ravel. Remastered from the original analog tapes and cut by Kevin Gray, this gatefold double LP is limited to 2000 hand-numbered copies.
