Beautifully recorded in late 2002 at New York's St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Three Guitars is a must-hear summit meeting between Larry Coryell, Brazilian rising star Badi Assad, and John Abercrombie. Coryell and Abercrombie, pioneers of electric jazz fusion in the 1970s, play steel-stringed acoustic guitars that contrast with Assad's nylon-stringed classical guitar; Assad also contributes vocals and percussive mouth-and-body sounds. Highlights include Coryell's "No Flight Tonight," Abercrombie's "Timeless," and Assad's "After the Rain." Available for the first time since 2005, reissued on 180g One-Step vinyl.
