Mercyful Fate are the Danish heavy metal band formed in Copenhagen in 1981 by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann, and a key part of the first wave of black metal. Return of the Vampire compiles rare demo tracks recorded before the band's first official 1982 release, originally issued as a compilation in 1992. This exclusive reissue is pressed on limited-edition white vinyl.
