Mobile Fidelity - SourcePoint 10 Master Edition Bookshelf Speakers (Pair)
Andrew Jones’ 10-inch concentric point source, refined: upgraded crossover parts, better impedance linearity, and a three-position tweeter switch to dial the speaker into your room.
Choose your configuration above: the SourcePoint 10 Master Edition loudspeakers on their own in Black or Walnut, either set of dedicated stands on its own, or the complete speakers-and-stands package with your choice of the standard SourcePoint 10 stands or the Low Slung stands. Pick the combination that fits your room before adding to cart.
Andrew Jones spent 18 months developing the custom 10-inch concentric driver at the heart of this speaker, working from a principle he states plainly: “A great loudspeaker allows you to hear through to the heart of the music.” The paper-pulp cone offers nearly 2.5 times the surface area of a typical 6.5-inch bass driver, with a 1.25-inch soft dome tweeter, wide-roll surround and large-diameter voice coil mounted at its acoustic center, crossing over at 1.6 kHz and extending beyond 30 kHz with minimal thermal compression. The Twin-Drive magnet system builds a fully symmetrical magnetic field that eliminates flux modulation, driving intermodulation distortion extremely low. At 91 dB sensitivity and a benign 8-ohm load, it is happy with tubes or transistors.
The Master Edition is where that platform gets refined, and the refinement is entirely in the crossover — drivers, cabinet and finishes are unchanged from the standard SourcePoint 10, which MoFi still sells alongside it. The crossover uses precision-selected components including polypropylene film capacitors, metalized-film resistors and air-core inductors, with a carefully tuned filter slope that maximizes coherence and phase alignment between woofer and tweeter, plus improved impedance linearity. Built into the crossover PCB is a three-position Tweeter Level Switch: High to add high-frequency presence in a heavily damped room, Mid for the factory-calibrated balance, and Low to tame a bright, reflective space. Existing SourcePoint 10 owners can buy the crossover as an upgrade kit and fit it with a screwdriver.
The cabinet is 1-inch MDF on top, bottom and sides under real wood veneer, with a 2-inch thick multi-faceted front baffle in satin black and two internal braces tying the structure together. The multi-faceted shaping eliminates diffraction, and the fabric-wrapped grilles attach magnetically. It is rear-ported, so allow clearance behind. Finishes are Satin Walnut with grey grilles or Satin Black Ash with black grilles, both with book-matched veneer. Five-year parts and labor warranty.
Both stand options are purpose-built by MoFi for the SourcePoint 10, and the choice between them is really a choice of listening axis. The standard SourcePoint 10 Speaker Stands are rugged steel, 20-1/16″ tall with a 10-1/16″ square top plate and a broad base, rated to 50 lbs, raising the concentric driver to a conventional seated listening height. The Low Slung Speaker Stands take the opposite approach: high-quality wood with rubberized feet, positioning the speaker low to the ground with a built-in tilt of 6.1″ at the front and 3.6″ at the rear, angling the driver upward toward a seated listener. If your chair is low or your room calls for a lower profile, the Low Slung is the one to pick.
