Nagaoka - JN-P200 Replacement Stylus for MP-200

The genuine Nagaoka replacement stylus for the MP-200 and MP-200H — nude elliptical diamond on a boron cantilever.

The MP series is built so that the part which wears is the part you replace. The JN-P200 is not simply a diamond: the assembly carries the stylus, the cantilever and the suspension components, which between them do most of the work of following the groove.

The boron cantilever is the reason the MP-200 sounds the way it does, and it lives in this assembly rather than in the cartridge body. Boron is far stiffer than aluminium for its weight, so it transmits what the diamond finds without flexing and adding a signature of its own — Nagaoka's own claim is that the groove is traced accurately as a result. Fit a generic aluminium-cantilever stylus and the MP-200 stops being an MP-200.

It pushes on and pulls off by hand, with no realignment and nothing disturbed in your overhang or azimuth. Tracking force is the MP-200's 1.5 to 2.0 g.
