Nagaoka - JN-P700 Replacement Stylus for MP-700
The genuine Nagaoka replacement stylus for the flagship MP-700 and MP-700H — a nude MicroRidge diamond on a boron cantilever.
That the MP-700 has a replaceable stylus at all is unusual at this level, and Nagaoka treats it as a feature rather than an afterthought. Most reference cartridges have to go back to the factory to be retipped. This one takes a user-fitted assembly, which makes the long-term cost of ownership look very different.
The JN-P700 is not simply a diamond. It carries the stylus, the boron cantilever and the suspension — including the tension-wire structure Nagaoka introduced with the MP-700, which holds the cantilever under controlled tension so that warp and eccentricity do less to change the effective tracking force through a side. Almost everything that distinguishes the MP-700 at the groove is in this part.
The MicroRidge profile is among the finest contact geometries made, presenting a very narrow ridge to the groove wall for high resolution and low record wear. Tracking force is the MP-700's single specified 1.4 g.
It pushes on and pulls off by hand, with no realignment and nothing disturbed in your overhang or azimuth.
