Dance Called Memory is the spectral, spacious fourth album from Nation of Language, written by frontman Ian Richard Devaney in the most humble of ways — chipping away at melancholia while strumming his guitar. The band again collaborated with producer Nick Millhiser (LCD Soundsystem, Holy Ghost!), shifting their palette with chopped-up drum breaks and synth-smashed percussion to weave raw vulnerability into a synth-heavy record. Leaning toward the Brian Eno school of distinctly human synthesized music, Devaney aims to leave listeners with a feeling of really seeing one another.
