Tribe 2000 is a performance featuring Tribe Records founders Phil Ranelin (trombone) and Wendell Harrison (saxophone), four of its five compositions penned by Ranelin. Recorded in 2000 at Harrison's behest, the session reunited the nucleus of the influential Detroit label and brought in seasoned side musicians to flesh out the arrangements, underscoring the brilliance of one of the most innovative collectives in jazz.
