Guitarist Bill Connors recorded Of Mist and Melting in December 1977 at Talent Studio, Oslo, in a Manfred Eicher-produced session with Jan Garbarek, Gary Peacock, and Jack DeJohnette. After a stretch of electric fusion work, Connors stripped his sound back to its acoustic, nylon-string core, presenting six original compositions with chamber-music dynamics. This reissue arrives as part of ECM's Luminessence series in a tip-on gatefold jacket with new liner notes and photos from the archive.
