Bobby Hutcherson - Total Eclipse - Tone Poet LP
$38.99
180g Vinyl LP, Blue Note Tone Poet Audiophile Reissue
Vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson was a defining voice of Blue Note in the 1960s, equally at home in hard bop, soul jazz and the avant-garde. His 1968 album Total Eclipse was his first to feature tenor saxophonist and flutist Harold Land, who became a key collaborator. With pianist Chick Corea, bassist Reggie Johnson and drummer Joe Chambers, it's an impassioned, probing set of post-bop — from the briskly swinging opener "Herzog" to the epic closer "Pompeian."
