$38.99
180g Vinyl, Blue Note Tone Poet Series, Deluxe Tip-On Jacket
Recorded live at The Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach, California on July 29, 1962, Tippin' on Through captures saxophonist Curtis Amy leading a stacked sextet for Pacific Jazz. The brawny Texas tenor surrounds himself with Roy Brewster (valve trombone), Roy Ayers (vibes), John Houston (piano), Bob Whitlock (bass) and Lawrence Marable (drums) on a swinging six-song set that mixes three Amy originals with tunes by Benny Golson, Dave Brubeck and George Gershwin. This stereo Tone Poet edition was produced by Joe Harley and mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes.
