[Pre Order] Doug Carn - Infant Eyes - LP *
Release Date: August 7, 2026
Doug Carn's 1971 Black Jazz debut, remastered and pressed on blue with black swirl vinyl limited to 500 copies.
Keyboardist and composer Doug Carn recorded more for the Black Jazz label than anyone — four records now recognized as spiritual/free/soul-jazz classics. His debut, Infant Eyes, introduced his signature wrinkle of adding lyrics to jazz standards like John Coltrane's "Acknowledgement (A Love Supreme)," Horace Silver's "Peace," and Wayne Shorter's title track, all sung by the gorgeous voice of his wife Jean Carn. A crack outfit — drummer Michael Carvin, saxophonist/flautist George Harper, trombonist Al Hall, Jr., trumpeter Bob Frazier, and bassist Henry Franklin — backs the couple on a moving, beautiful listen that sounds ever more contemporary.
