180-Gram 45 RPM Double LP, Tip-On Gatefold Jacket
Released in 1972, Dr. John's Gumbo is the fifth album by New Orleans singer and pianist Dr. John, a heartfelt tribute to the music of his native city. The album collects spirited interpretations of New Orleans traditionals like "Iko Iko," "Tipitina," "Junko Partner" and "Stack-A-Lee," alongside R&B written or played by the likes of Huey "Piano" Smith and Earl King. It's a set of infectious songs drenched in good vibes and spiced with a pinch of voodoo. This Analogue Productions reissue is part of the Atlantic 75th Anniversary Series.
