The three Ellington suites gathered here span Duke Ellington's prolific later career: "The Queen's Suite," recorded in 1959 and dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II (but not widely released until 1970); "The Goutelas Suite" from April 1971; and "The Uwis Suite" from October 1972. Ellington recorded these works at his own expense and stockpiled them, and they were later collected for release by Norman Granz on Pablo. This Analogue Productions reissue was mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab from the original analog master tape, pressed at Quality Record Pressings, and housed in a Stoughton Printing tip-on single pocket jacket.
