180g Vinyl LP — Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series, All-Analog, Mastered by Kevin Gray

By the time Grant Green returned to Blue Note in 1969, his style had evolved to embrace jazz-funk and R&B. In 1971 the guitarist returned to Van Gelder Studio to record Visions, joined by Billy Wooten (vibes), Emmanuel Riggins (electric piano), Chuck Rainey (electric bass), Idris Muhammad (drums), and percussionists Ray Armando and Harold Caldwell. Green's distinctive tone elevates a varied program of radio hits by Chicago, The Carpenters, and the Jackson 5, plus the jazz-funk workout "Cantaloupe Woman" and a beautiful rendition of Quincy Jones' "Maybe Tomorrow," later sampled by Kendrick Lamar.
