Bashin': The Unpredictable Jimmy Smith is the Hammond B-3 master's explosive 1962 debut for Verve Records, where he steps out in front of a roaring big band arranged by Oliver Nelson and proves he can swing with any ensemble at full throttle. Smith's unmistakable grit and groove meet Nelson's bold, sophisticated charts, with an ensemble that includes future Tonight Show legends Doc Severinsen and Ed Shaughnessy. This Acoustic Sounds Series edition was mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab from the original analog tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at QRP.
