Joe Hisaishi joins the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and harpist Emmanuel Ceysson for a world-premiere recording of two major works. The Harp Concerto was written specifically for Ceysson and developed in close collaboration with him, trading conventional notions of delicacy for driving rhythms and striking emotional intensity across its three movements. It is paired with Symphony No. 3 "Metaphysica," which premiered in 2021 for the 50th anniversary of the New Japan Philharmonic and pairs intricate rhythmic structures with richly textured, Mahler-inspired orchestration.
