Recorded shortly after Broonzy's death, Muddy Waters Sings "Big Bill" finds Muddy paying homage to one of his formative influences, reworking Broonzy's country-blues repertoire through the electric Chicago sound he had built at Chess. The band includes Otis Spann on piano and James Cotton on harmonica. This audiophile reissue is part of the Chess Records 75th Anniversary Acoustic Sounds Series, mastered all-analog by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings.
