Paul McCartney's first new album in six years, The Boys of Dungeon Lane was inspired by his childhood in post-war Liverpool—named after a road in Speke leading to the Mersey shore where the young McCartney would spend afternoons bird-watching. Across these songs he writes with rare openness about his childhood, the resilience of his parents, and early adventures shared with George Harrison and John Lennon long before Beatlemania, alongside newly inspired love songs. The lead single "Days We Left Behind" finds him in a wistful, nostalgic mood. Pressed on black vinyl with a 12-page lyric booklet and embossed cover artwork.
