Continuing the band's 40th anniversary celebrations, Pixies are repressing Trompe le Monde (1991) with newly remastered audio — engineer Kevin Vanbergen returned to the original analogue tapes to deliver stunning new masters that reveal more layers to this much-loved record. Translated from French as "fool the world," the band's fourth album, produced by Gil Norton, is arguably their most playful — Black Francis' lyrics on UFOs and conspiracy theories keep things weird while power pop creeps in to amplify the space rock of Bossanova. Fifteen tracks in a quickfire 40-minute salvo, bookending a golden run of landmark records that cemented Pixies as one of the best of a generation.
