Hybrid Stereo SACD — plays in all CD and SACD players. Analogue Productions Atlantic 75 Series, mastered direct to DSD from the original master tape by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound.

Purple, the second Stone Temple Pilots album, arrived in 1994 and stands as a defining moment in the alternative rock of the 1990s. Building on the foundation of their debut Core, it blended raw energy, introspective writing and genuinely skilled musicianship, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and going multi-platinum worldwide.

"Interstate Love Song" became an anthem for a generation, with "Vasoline" and "Big Empty" close behind it. Lyrically the record showed a more mature side of the band, with Scott Weiland writing about addiction, love and self-discovery in a way that let listeners connect on a much deeper level. Purple proved Stone Temple Pilots were far more than another grunge act, and it remains an essential listen for any rock fan.

This edition is part of the Analogue Productions Atlantic 75 Series celebrating the 75th anniversary of Atlantic Records. The hybrid disc carries a DSD stereo SACD layer plus a Red Book stereo CD layer, so it plays in any conventional CD player as well.
