Thelonious Monk Quartet - Misterioso - Analogue Productions LP
Analogue Productions 180g Vinyl — Mastered AAA by Kevin Gray, Pressed at QRP
Recorded live at the Five Spot Café in Manhattan in August 1958 — the same sessions that produced Thelonious in Action — Misterioso captures Thelonious Monk with tenor saxophonist Johnny Griffin, drummer Roy Haynes, and bassist Ahmed Abdul-Malik. From the hypnotic title track to the inside-out melody lines of "Let's Cool One," the album showcases Monk's distinctive blend of angular melodies, dissonant harmonies, and rhythmic complexity. This reissue was mastered AAA by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Quality Record Pressings.
