Tom Waits - The Black Rider - LP
30th Anniversary, 180 Gram Black Vinyl, Newly Remastered
2023 marks 30 years since Tom Waits released The Black Rider. Originally released in 1993 on Island Records, it is Waits' 12th studio album — a musical comedy/horror collaboration between director/designer Robert Wilson, Beat writer William S. Burroughs, and Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan. Not a cast album, this is Waits' own interpretation and performance of the songs he created for the stage production: a Waitsian concoction of pop, vaudeville, rock, cabaret and blues rooted in German Romantic literature and Weber's opera "Der Freischütz." Newly remastered for the first time from the original 1/2" flat master tape, personally overseen by Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan.
