"The Pyre" itself is an allegorical place of violence and destruction but also of regeneration, passion, and light — the songs feel darker, more raw, and more earthy, with lyrics invoking rifles, scythes, sailors, saints, cowboys, floods, Mother Earth, Joan of Arc, and blazing infernos. Produced by James Ford, it's deeply personal songwriting pushed to evocative, pathological extreme.
