For over two decades Tunde Adebimpe has been known as the co-founder, co-vocalist and principal songwriter of TV on the Radio. Thee Black Boltz is his first-ever solo album, conceived in 2019 during a band break and built with multi-instrumentalist Wilder Zoby. At its heart is Tunde's response to a turbulent post-pandemic world and personal grief, grasping for small moments of joy amid the dissonance — what he calls his way of building a platform for himself in the middle of the ocean.
