New York hip hop revolutionaries Ultramagnetic MC's — Ced-Gee, Kool Keith, Moe Luv and T.R. Love — dropped their seminal debut Critical Beatdown in 1988, a record hailed by the underground as a masterpiece and later named one of the 100 greatest hip hop albums by The Source and Hip Hop Connection. The 1986 single "Ego Trippin" was among the first tracks built on the SP1200 drum machine, programmed by producer Ced-Gee. This expanded edition pairs the original 15-track album with six bonus cuts, including the original 12" versions of "Funky," "Bait," "A Chorus Line" (feat. Tim Dog) and "Mentally Mad."
