First-Ever Vinyl Release
Written by Weldon Irvine as composer, lyricist, and musical director, the musical Young, Gifted and Broke was originally recorded in 1977, inspired by the civil rights anthem "Young, Gifted and Black" that Irvine co-wrote with Nina Simone. The session brought together a group of talented musicians, including a young Marcus Miller before his name reached international prominence. Discovered in the early 2010s and issued on CD in 2012, P-VINE is proud to be the first in the world to release these recordings on vinyl.
