Released in 1967, A Day in the Life was Wes Montgomery's debut for A&M Records (in partnership with Creed Taylor's CTI). Often considered the best of his three A&M albums, it features superb arrangements by Don Sebesky and a roster of star sidemen including Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Ray Barretto and Grady Tate. The album reached #1 on the Billboard jazz chart and #2 R&B.
