BONGO FURY turns 50! The classic collaboration between Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart in May 1975 produced a flurry of new compositions, a tour, and eventually this album — made up mostly of live recordings from the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin, TX, along with a few studio cuts from The Record Plant in Los Angeles. It was the last release to feature the band name "Mothers" before it was retired in 1976. This 50th Anniversary Edition features all-analog mastering of the main album by Bernie Grundman on 180g black vinyl from the original master tapes, plus a bonus record of highlights from the 6-disc box set.
