In 1978, Cal Tjader cut these tracks at the famed Filmways/Wally Heider studios in Hollywood with an all-star band including Gary Foster and Kurt McGettrick on saxophones, Rob Fisher on bass, and Latin legends Poncho Sanchez on congas and Willie Bobo on timbales. Authentically Latin and undiminished in force, the album is defined by searing brass and exciting percussion, recorded with overhead miking to preserve a live flavor and natural acoustic perspective. Long unavailable, it returns here on 180-gram vinyl.
