Dorothy Ashby was perhaps the greatest and most swinging jazz harpist of all time, transforming the harp into a fully versatile combo voice. In a Minor Groove is one of two albums she made in 1958 with flautist and saxophonist Frank Wess, backed by fellow Detroit native Herman Wright on bass and the great Roy Haynes on drums. This first-ever domestic black vinyl reissue uses the original mono sources, with original album art and Ira Gitler's sleeve notes.
