What Do We Do Now is the fifth solo studio album from Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis. Written on acoustic guitar at his own Bisquiteen Studio, the songs took on a fuller, more band-like shape once Mascis added drums, with Ken Mauri (of the B-52's) on piano and Matthew "Doc" Dunn's pedal steel widening and softening the edges. The result is the finest set of solo tunes he has yet penned, presented just about perfectly.
