Originally released in April 1997, First Rays Of The New Rising Sun was the first album prepared under the direct supervision of the Hendrix family. Drawing together seventeen songs created between March 1968 and Jimi's final Electric Lady sessions in August 1970, it represents the music he was building toward at the end of his life, including "Freedom," "Dolly Dagger," "Angel" and "Ezy Rider." This edition is an all-analog remaster from the original 1/4" mixes by Bernie Grundman, pressed on 150-gram black vinyl.
