Kathy McCord was the very first artist signed and recorded by Creed Taylor's CTI label, and her 1970 debut is a singular fusion of folk and jazz. A gifted teenage poet, the 17-year-old McCord wrote much of the album, which was interpreted by a crack team of jazz musicians including Harvey Brooks (bass), Hubert Laws (flute) and John Hall (guitar). Overlooked on release and later cherished by folk-rock collectors, it arrives here as Ace Records' first vinyl reissue since 1970, on 180gm black vinyl with new liner notes from the singer's brother, Billy Vera.
