This release of Soul Blues completes Analogue Productions' series of 25 Prestige stereo reissues. Because the original master tape has been lost since the early 1970s, Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound created a 24/192kHz hi-res file via a meticulous needle drop from a clean original LP. A true poet of the blues, Lightnin' Hopkins spins tall, tongue-in-cheek tales — including the opening encounter with a bearded man claiming to be Jesus Christ — and puts his personal stamp on Willie Dixon's "My Babe" and Smokey Hogg's "Too Many Drivers."
