Ella Fitzgerald, the "First Lady of Song," and legendary jazz guitarist Joe Pass collaborated on four duet albums together. This album, their second, released in 1976, won Fitzgerald the 1977 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album and has endured as a classic in the jazz canon. Pass was the perfect partner for an effort whose relaxed "after hours" feeling intensified the level of communication, with Duke Ellington's songbook generously represented.
