Baby Huey - The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend - Rhino Reserve LP
Rhino Reserve Audiophile Series — 180g Premium-Quality Vinyl, Lacquers Cut from the Original Analog Tapes by Chris Bellman, Pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing
The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend is an audiophile necessity. Recorded in 1970, it is the only solo album by James "Baby Huey" Ramey; after his death at age 26, Curtis Mayfield finished the production and released it on his Curtom label in 1971. With tracks like "Hard Times" — later sampled by A Tribe Called Quest and Ice Cube — plus gorgeous covers of "A Change Is Gonna Come" and "California Dreamin'," the record has become a cult classic among hip-hop and soul fans alike. For this Rhino Reserve edition it has been cut from the original tapes by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering and pressed on 180-gram premium-quality vinyl at Fidelity Record Pressing in Oxnard, California.
