Benny Carter & Dizzy Gillespie - Carter, Gillespie, Inc. - Analogue Productions Pablo LP
180 Gram Vinyl, Mastered from the Original Analog Master Tape, Pressed at QRP
Dizzy Gillespie wrote his classic "A Night in Tunisia" in 1942 while working with Benny Carter, and 34 years later the two recorded it together for this 1976 album. With Carter at 70 and Gillespie at 60, both were inspired to some of the finest playing of their later years, supported by a top-flight rhythm section of bassist Al McKibbon, pianist Tommy Flanagan, guitarist Joe Pass, and drummer Mickey Roker. The program also includes two lesser-known gems, Gillespie's "Constantinople" and Carter's "The Courtship." This Analogue Productions reissue was mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab from the original analog master tape, pressed at Quality Record Pressings, and housed in a Stoughton Printing tip-on single pocket jacket.
