It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say this is one of the records that created the blueprint for the iconic HM-2-powered Swedish Death Metal sound. Carnage was short-lived but left behind a legacy most acts can only dream of. Vocalist Matti Kärki, guitarist David Blomqvist, and drummer Fred Estby would later form Dismember, while young guitar virtuoso Michael Amott would join Carcass and later form the hugely successful Arch Enemy.
