180g 45 RPM Double LP, Gatefold — All-Analog, Analogue Productions Atlantic 75 Series

Oh Yeah, recorded in 1961 and released by Atlantic in 1962, ranks among the wildest of Charles Mingus' classic albums. Here Mingus sets aside the bass entirely — handing those duties to Doug Watkins — to play piano and deliver bluesy, shouted vocals, with the explosive Roland Kirk fueling colorfully titled cuts like "Hog Callin' Blues," "Devil Woman" and "Eat That Chicken." Even at his wildest, Mingus keeps an earthy touch that gives the music its power. This Analogue Productions reissue was mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio from the original analog master tape, pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings, and housed in a tip-on old-style gatefold double-pocket jacket by Stoughton Printing.
