180 Gram Vinyl, Mastered from the Original Analog Master Tape, Pressed at QRP

Portraits of Duke Ellington is a 1975 tribute by jazz guitarist Joe Pass, recorded just a month after Ellington's death and reaching No. 37 on the Jazz Albums Chart. Backed by bassist Ray Brown and drummer Bobby Durham, Pass works through eight Ellington tunes plus "Caravan" (penned by Duke's longtime sideman Juan Tizol), with highlights including "In a Mellow Tone," "Don't Get Around Much Anymore," and "I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good)." This Analogue Productions reissue was mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab from the original analog master tape, pressed at Quality Record Pressings, and housed in a Stoughton Printing tip-on single pocket jacket.
