Lee Morgan's 1964 magnum opus The Sidewinder was both comeback and coronation. Recorded in 1963, this assured, energetic set of five Morgan originals features Joe Henderson (tenor sax), Barry Harris (piano), Bob Cranshaw (bass), and Billy Higgins (drums), and became the trumpeter's biggest commercial success on the strength of its irrepressible title track. This Classic Vinyl reissue is an all-analog 180g pressing mastered by Kevin Gray directly from the original master tapes.
